Multyfarnham hosted Westmeath County Council officials at the opening of the Village Enhancement Project. The Chairman of the County Council, Pat McLoughlin cut the ribbon with Danny McLaughlin present.Multyfarnham"s Rosario Loughrey welcomed the specific improvements that had been made including underground cabling, new footpaths decorative lighting, improvements to the Village Park, playground development and improved signage. 'Multyfarnham is not only one of the most beautiful villages in Westmeath but also in the country and these works had contributed significantly to that,' said Rosario. Also present on the day was Fr Gerry to who blessed to Project, and the principal of the National School Niall Brennan along with some of the staff and children from the school. Chairman Conor Murtagh presented Clr Pat McLoughlin with a piece of Genesis called Children of Lir which will be place in the Council Bulidings.Park DevelopmentThe annual Easter Sunday Duck race will take place on the river Gaine along with a free Easter egg hunt, in aid of St. Cremin"s N.S.The ducks will cost €5 with loads of prizes on the day.Thanks are extended to Assumpta Cox for planting lovely daffodils in the park. The village tidy up is every Thursday night from 7 - 9 pm.Multyfarnham Youth ClubThe Youth Club are hosting their Car Treasure Hunt on Sunday 5th April at 2.30pm from the Gaine Car Park.
