John Daly's gets The Blizzards make-over

A fresh new look, a whole new music scene and a whole new experience as John Daly's bar reopens for business this week, brought to you by none other than Anthony Doran and Dec Murphy of The Blizzards.In an ambitions new project undertaken by the two Mullingar lads, Daly's bar has been revamped, re-invigorated and re-energised by "Dec and Doran" - as the two are more commonly known.While on a sabbatical from the Meteor Award winning band, the two boys have been busy working behind the music scenes, getting involved on the management side of things. Now these two are turning there hands to re-inventing Mullingar's music scene, something which they say has lay dormant for quite a while."We want to bring something new to the town, a place where people can drop in for a coffee, have a bit of lunch, or a quiet pint. We will also be bringing the best of local and national bands to Daly's," says Dec Murphy. "We hope to combine the traditional old-style bar with a modern twist,""It's going to be fresh and organic, with a welcoming and friendly atmosphere, and one of us will be here at all times, which I think is important," adds Anthony.Daly's will also see the return of the popular Project Guest DJ, which will include some of Ireland's biggest names. There will be a full bar, a chill out room to escape from music and have a quiet pint, or have a coffee of the Jacques Vabre Grands Crus du Monde kind, which boasts a blend of four of the finest Arabica coffees from around the world hand picked and slow roasted to make Espresso, Americano, Latte and Cappuccino of outstanding quality. A full lunch menu will also be starting in the coming weeks.There is also an extensive seated and heated smoking area.The official opening of Daly's will be held some time in early September, with reports of a prominent guest DJ lined up for the night, as well as one of Ireland's hottest bands.
