Statement from Fine Gael general secretary Tom Curran on Westmeath local elections

Fine Gael general secretary, Tom Curran, has said the Party’s executive council is happy to confirm that Cllr Colm Arthur, Rochfortbridge, has been added to the Fine Gael ticket for the Mullingar Kilbeggan electoral area for the local elections to Westmeath County Council.

Cllr Arthur has a superb political track-record and a strong commitment to delivering for his community, he said.

He joins Andrew Duncan, Chris Murtagh and Michael Newman on the ticket.

Mr Curran said: “The party’s executive council believes Fine Gael has put in place an excellent team in the Mullingar Kilbeggan electoral area. We are very confident of success in the local elections in Westmeath.”
