New Beginning to hold debt seminar in Mullingar on Thursday

The organisation New Beginning, which aims to help people through the mortgage crisis, is holding a public seminar at the Mullingar Park Hotel this Thursday night from 7.30 to 9.30 pm.

The seminar will see talks from founder member and barrister, Vincent P Martin; debt advisor Ruth Fanning; and a personal testimony from Martin Byrne, a mature student, who has himself been battling his way through debt.

New Beginning was founded by a group of lawyers to provide legal representation to people facing repossession of their family homes,

"We believe that solving the mortgage crisis is the key to economic recovery in the State," the organisation states, adding that it has a professional panel of advisors to assist members of the public in areas of debt and related legal services.

The seminar at The Mullingar Park Hotel is free, but advance registration is recommended.

The topics covered will include: dealing with the banks; the MARP process, and how to protect the family home; personal insolvency; bankruptcy; and an element on how "your recovery means Ireland's recovery".
