Arrests in Christopher Nevin murder investigation

Gardaí have arrested two males as part of an investigation into the murder of Christopher Nevin, who died following an incident in Navan on November 19.

Both males, who are aged in their early 20s, were arrested yesterday evening in the Navan area.

They are currently detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984 at Navan Garda Station.

Last week, gardaí in Navan reported that they were investigating an incident which occurred at approximately 2.15pm on November 19 at Tailtean Road, Winetown, Navan.

Christopher Nevin was seriously injured in an altercation with a number of other males.

The males got into a silver car, which drove off in the direction of the town centre.

Christopher was taken by ambulance to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda.

Gardaí in Navan are appealing for witnesses, anyone who was on the Tailtean Road or in the vicinity of Winetown between 1.50pm and 2.30pm on November 19 or anyone who may have any information to contact them on 046 9079930, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111 or any Garda station.
