Sunflower Day raising funds for North Westmeath Hospice

Stalls for North Westmeath Hospice are around Mullingar today as Sunflower Day is currently under way.

The event is a big fundraiser for the charity and has become a very important annual event.

Today volunteers have set up stalls outside popular supermarkets and busy areas to try and sell bags, pins and trolly coins for only €2.

All funds raised will be going towards the local hospice, and to provide palliative care for local people who are suffering from terminal illnesses.

This is the last summer event the North Westmeath Hospice will host this year and North Westmeath Hospice are hoping to receive a good show of support from the people of Mullingar and its surrounds, as they have done in previous years and events.
