Martin Devaney, the producer of Westmeath County Matters on IrishTV and his team were at Abbeyshrule today to record the parachute jumps.
They were on the scene of the emergency landing within a few minutes, and took this photo from the air.
Their pilot followed their emergency plan, circled down and provided ‘top cover’ to guide paramedics.
In the meantime the airport manager at Abbeyshrule contacted the emergency services and the air crash investigation unit.
