Cherish the Ladies fairly liven up Mullingar Arts Centre

Cherish the Ladies fairly livened up Mullingar Arts Centre last night, thanks to the charismatic Joanie Madden – who wasn’t keen on giving up the mic! – and a talented group of musicians and supporting performers.

Cherish the Ladies and Nathan Pilatzke on stage at Mullingar Arts Centre last night (Saturday).

A native of the Bronx who an Irish family background, Joanie led the interaction with the audience and introduced the others in between playing her tin whistle, showing all her experience and talent.

Among the guests were the Canadian dancer, Nathan Pilatzke, who puts his all into his steps (see video), Kate Purcell, a singer from County Clare and David Gainey, a five-time world champion dancer from Dingle.

Joan told the audience that it was thanks to Mick Foster they were playing in Mullingar, and paid tribute to him and Moyra Fraser, who have recently married (and who were present on last night), and dedicated a song to Pat and Mary Allen, whose son Padraic is a friend of the band, and who are related to the singer TR Dallas.

Judging by last night’s performance, Cherish the Ladies will be welcomed back in Mullingar any time.
