Pedestrian path plan for Saunders Bridge

County council director of services, Martin Murray, says plans for a pedestrian bridge on the Ardmore Road adjacent to Saunders Bridge are progressing.

Speaking at the Mullingar Municipal District recently, Mr Murray said consent had been given by Waterways Ireland to proceed to part 8 planning stage.

“That consent has been given and we can lodge for Part 8 planning in respect of the permanent structure,” he told the elected members of the MMD committee.

Cllr Una D’Arcy said she was “delighted” to see it going ahead, while Cllr Mick Dollard said the time for talking was finished, “let s move on with it”.
