Clonmellon market celebrates first anniversary in the sun

Clonmellon Farmers Market has established itself as an important event in the north Westmeath community over the last year.

Clonmellon Community Council marked the market’s first anniversary on Sunday last, July 18, in glorious weather and with the regular stallholders and customers, and some new faces, plus a recipe book produced to mark the occasion.

The market is about much more than buying and selling – it’s about the social side of life, meeting those you might not otherwise see, and getting to know new people.

Joan and Paula, on behalf of Clonmellon Community Council committee, would like to thank the stallholders, customers and everyone who has supported and helped over the past year to make Clonmellon Farmers Market into the success it is.

There’s lots of diversity among the stalls, and the aim is keep it local, so the market is as sustainable as it is important. It’s on every other Sunday from 11am to 1.30pm, and the next one is on August 1.
