WPPN looking for community feedback on local issues

Westmeath Public Participation Network (WPPN) have completed this year’s formal process of making and receiving feedback to issues raised by community and voluntary groups in Westmeath to the two municipal Districts of Athlone/Moate and Mullingar/Kinnegad.

Both Mullingar/Kinnegad and Athlone/Moate Public Participation Network submissions were positively received and many of the issues and proposals in the documents were supported and have either been implemented or will be implemented before the end of the year.

With the 2022 process complete, WPPN are now preparing for the forthcoming Municipal District budget allocations for 2023. It is starting this process by asking people to consult with their local groups and asking them to prioritise their issue of concern for their area or group and to also propose a solution to the identified issue. Examples include footpaths, public lighting, disability parking, road safety etc.

They have compiled a form for completion which can be emailed or returned by post.

WPPN are asking for as much detailed information as possible on the issue at hand, including photos and map position.

The submissions received will be compiled and will be used as the draft submissions to the relevant Municipal District.

Closing date for receipt of submission by WPPN is Monday September 12.

Please return your submissions to Westmeath Public Participation Network, c/o Westmeath County Council, Aras An Chontae, Mount Street, Mullingar, N91 FH4N or email info@westmeathppn.ie.
