Crookedwood Camogie calls on Westmeath community for Leinster final support

Crookedwood Camogie Club is calling on the people of Westmeath to get behind its Intermediate team as the rural club prepares for one of the biggest occasions in its history.

The Crookedwood side has launched a funding campaign to facilitate their run in this year's Leinster championship.

They enjoyed a memorable season, having been crowned Westmeath Intermediate champions before continuing its impressive run in the Leinster Junior A Club Championship.

The team has now booked its place in Sunday's provincial final, marking a significant achievement for the small Westmeath club and bringing great pride to its players, management, families and the wider Crookedwood community.

The club has taken to GoFundMe to appealing to local people, businesses, sponsors and supporters, both at home and further afield, to help fund the team's journey to the provincial decider.

As a small rural club, Crookedwood relies heavily on the generosity and support of its community, and the added demands of competing at Leinster level have brought additional financial pressures.

Funds raised through the appeal will go directly towards supporting the Intermediate team, helping to meet expenses associated with the championship campaign.

These include travel, meals, equipment and other essential costs involved in preparing for and competing in the provincial competition.

The club stressed that every contribution, regardless of size, would make a difference and help ensure the players receive the support they deserve ahead of Sunday's eagerly anticipated final.

The team's achievement reflects the dedication, commitment and hard work of the players and management throughout the season, while also highlighting the importance of community support in sustaining rural clubs.

Crookedwood is now hoping that the wider Westmeath community will rally behind the team as they prepare to take another historic step for the club.

With a county title already secured and a Leinster crown now within reach, the club's message is clear: small club, big dreams, and a community united behind its team.
