'Cars and coffee' coming to Streete

The first cars and coffee morning at Streete Parish Park is planned for on Sunday 18 February between 9am and 1pm.

All types of interesting and classic vehicles are welcome, say the organisers.

The proceeds of the morning will go towards the replacement of the parish park defibrillator and to the Irish Road Victims Association.

Raffle with great prizes on the day, please come and support the cause; for more info contact Eamon 087 1470280 or Thomas 086 8656833.

What is cars and coffee?

There is an explanation of the cars and coffee concept online at https://cars.coffee/. It says: 'Cars & Coffee is the global phenomenon where the passion of supercar owners and enthusiasts become reality. It is a world class, multibrand and multiperiod display to share the emotions conveyed by the roar of powerful engines and by the sight of so many stunning cars.'

That is the offical 'Cars & Coffee' - but the idea has moved on from there to a general theme of gatherings of enthusiasts who like cars - they don't have to be supercars, as the organisers of the event planned for Streete point out.
