Milltownpass gears up for 2013 tractor event

Massey Fergusons, Zetors, David Brown, John Deeres and New Holland – if you’re a fan of tractors, then there’s only one place to be this Sunday March 24, and that’s Milltownpass, where the village is hosting its annual tractor run.

After the success of last year’s event, which brought a huge selection of tractors and vintage cars from all around the midlands, it is hoped for an even better day this year.

A warm sunny day also attracted a crowd of onlookers from the very young to the very old.

All activities kick off from 11am with registration from 11.30am, and the tractor run commencing at noon.

Tea and sandwiches will be served, while on their return, the drivers will be provided with hot food as part of their entry. The fee to enter is €25 per tractor, and sponsorship cards are also currently being distributed.

The route is the same as last year: starting in Milltownpass and taking in the high roads and byroads of the area.

To participate, or make a donation towards the new community centre in Milltownpass, contact Billy on 086 7218885 or Noel on 086 2537883.

Refreshments will be served to all competitors and there will also be a raffle on the day.
