The Men's branch Annual General Meeting took place on Sunday evening last in the clubhouse and as predicted it was one of the best attended club annual conventions in recent years.

The outgoing offers' reports invoked quite a bit of debate among the one hundred and fifty or so delegates present.

The following officers and committee were elected for the coming year and we wish them the best:

President: Mr Austin Witter; Captain: Mr Liam Conlon; Vice-Captain: Mr. Joe Bracken; Honorary Secretary: Mr John O'Reilly; Honorary Treasurer: Mr Tom Mulvee. Committee: Messrs Gerry Austin, Chris Garry, Danny Grehan, Michael Kearns, Pat Keenaghan, Tom Moore, Philip Morris and John Tweddle.

Ladies AGM

We wish the Lady Captain and her committee a successful Annual General Meeting which takes place tonight (Wednesday, November 18).

Turkeys and Morgan Golf and Sport winter league

Despite the inclemency of the weather there were some rounds completed in the Winter Leagues and the weekly turkey competition and I've been asked to remind competitors that they can enter both competitions simultaneously by clicking on the correct icon on the computer. Last week's turkey winners were Pat Dromey (15) 36 points; Mick Gunning (12) and Patrick Duffy (20) both with thirty five points.

Nigel Murtagh's ace

Heartiest congratulations to this year's golfer of the year Nigel Murtagh on achieving every golfer's dream, a hole in one, in the week-end competition on Sunday morning last at the twelfth hole. His club of choice was a nine iron, I believe.

Midland Senior Alliance on Sunday next

Members are reminded that time has been allotted to the rescheduled Midland Senior Alliance on Sunday morning next.
