Westmeath's lady footballers team up for Family Carers

The Ladies Gaelic Football County Boards of Ireland and The Carers Association have teamed up for the Together for Carers fundraising campaign.Watch out for the campaign's specially created St Patrick's Day ribbons for sale across Westmeath in retail outlets, shopping centres and for sale through volunteers.Priced just €2, all proceeds will go to help Westmeath's family carers.Reflecting the community work of both organisations in Westmeath, The Carers Association is delighted to launch the Together for Carers campaign with The Ladies Gaelic Football County Boards of Ireland."The Ladies Gaelic Football County Boards and Clubs work tirelessly with youth in the community and we are happy that they are volunteering to sell our specially created St Patrick's Day ribbons in Westmeath. We urge people to support this campaign to raise vital funds for family carers," says Annette McCaul, Fundraising Manager.The Carers Association supports family carers by providing services including in-home respite care to give family carers a break, training, support groups, a freefone National Care Line and campaigns for recognition and better rights and entitlements for carers.The Together for Carers campaign will see the sale of 250,000 ribbons across 12 participating counties.In this, the first year of a three-year campaign, The Carers Association hope to raise €100,000 this year for family carers.Together for Carers St Patrick's Day ribbons are on sale now from retail outlets, shopping centres or through the campaign's volunteers up to March 17.• seecarersireland.com.
