Plans for Belvedere visitor centre

New automated gates and doors at the entry and exit points to Belvedere House and Gardens are included in county council plans for the estate.

They are to be part of a re-design of the visitor centre, which will mean a new entrance from the reception area, and a new glass-roof area outside the existing rear doors to the courtyard.

The plans, which Westmeath County Council have advertised in the Westmeath Examiner, also incorporate refurbishment of the audiovisual room and the former owners’ gallery.

The plans can be inspected at the council offices in Mullingar until the end of July and on westmeathcoco.ie, and submissions or observations are being accepted till August 12.
