Toastmasters is back next week

It’s that time of year again... Mullingar Toastmasters is on the way back, still going strong after 21 years.

The reason for that is that when people are asked to name their greatest fears, terrorism, global warming, or cancer are not the most common answers; numerous surveys have shown that the number one fear for many people is public speaking.

It’s a fear o that many live with, but few take the time to do anything about.

This is unfortunate, as it is easily overcome with a friendly, supportive and non-threatening audience. This is what you experience in Mullingar Toastmasters.

This is why the Mullingar Toastmasters welcome new members every year, are looking forward to welcoming all members back, and hope that you will come along also. Meetings are every second and fourth Thursday of each month.

The club facilitates a wide variety of speeches, from storytelling, jokes and best man speeches, to father of the bride speeches, matron of honour speeches, mother of the bride speeches even speeches for winning over a hostile audience.

That’s where you always need to remember Mark Twain’s tip: ‘Never argue with a fool – onlookers may not be able to tell the difference.’

Mullingar Toastmasters are renowned for fun and enthusiastic meetings, and the next one is on Thursday September 13 in The Greville Arms Hotel at 8.30pm.
