Input of the public wanted for new 'recreation strategy'

A new “recreation strategy” is being formulated for County Westmeath.

Westmeath Community Development and Westmeath Sports Partnership say that the aim of the plan is “to link Westmeath’s recreational infrastructure with local communities and businesses through identifying actions to promote the use of these recreational facilities”.

“Outdoor enthusiasts, activity providers, local clubs and organisations with a passion and interest for outdoor recreation are invited to attend one of the public consultation meetings to help shape the Recreational plan. Meetings will be held in the Bloomfield House Hotel, Mullingar on Wednesday March 6 at 6.30pm and in the Shamrock Lodge Hotel, Athlone on Thursday March 7 at 6.30pm.

“Your input is an essential part of this process as we look to gather views on the current provision for Outdoor Recreation, and identify opportunities for future development
