Five patients on trolleys in Mullingar today

There are five patients on trolleys at the Midland Regional Hospital, Mullingar today.

According to the daily Trolley Watch survey carried out by the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation, all five patients are in the Emergency Department.

The number for the Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore today is zero.

The highest number of patients on trolleys today is 27, at Cork University Hospital.

At University Hospital Limerick, the number is 12.

At St Luke’s General Hospital, Kilkenny, and at Mater Misericordiae University Hospital, it is 11.

Nationally the overall number is 133, of whom 111 are in Emergency Departments.

The number of patients on trolleys who are younger than 16 is three.
