WATCH: The 2020 Westmeath Examiner Sports Awards winners revealed
Welcome to the 2020 Westmeath Examiner Sports Awards – the 14th annual event, but this year, due to the ongoing public health crisis, coming to you in a new, online format.
This special virtual event is hosted by Westmeath Examiner sports editor Paul Hughes, with a word from our regular host Robbie Irwin.
Central to the presentation of this event is the support of our sponsors the Mullingar Park Hotel, ORS Ireland and Home Instead Midlands.
The Mullingar Park Hotel have been the flagship sponsors of the Sports Awards since the inception of the event, and lend their support once again for this year’s virtual awards night, sponsoring the Hall of Fame award.
Co-sponsoring this year’s event are ORS Ireland (consulting engineers), sponsors of the Team of the Year award; and Home Instead Midlands, who sponsor the overall Sports Star of the Year award. Both ORS and Home Instead are located in Marlinstown Office Park, right across the road from the Mullingar Park Hotel.
At tonight’s awards (see video below), we present:
– The 2020 Westmeath Examiner/Home Instead Sports Star of the Year award;
– The ORS Ireland Team of the Year award;
– The Westmeath Examiner Hall of Fame award, sponsored by the Mullingar Park Hotel;
– Two Special Achievement awards.
Last year, the overall Sports Star of the Year award was won by Westmeath camogie legend Pamela Greville.
