Mullingar town centre streets to be closed for St Patrick's Day parade

Streets in the centre of Mullingar are to be closed on St Patrick’s Day between noon and 6pm, the county council have proposed.

At this stage, the closures are ‘intended’ and the purpose is to facilitate the parade being planned for this year.

Anyone has the right to object to the proposed closures, up till 4pm on February 28 next (details below).

The roads that are the subject of the proposed closure are:

• Grand Parade

• Carey Bridge

• Dominick Street

• Oliver Plunkett Street

• The Market Square

• Pearse Street

• Austin Friar Street

• Millmount Junction.

Detour signs will be in place.

The intended road closure may be viewed on the local authority website at www.westmeathcoco.ie.

Objections to this proposed temporary road closure should be made in writing to the Municipal District of Mullingar Kinnegad, Westmeath County Council, Áras an Chontae, Mount Street, Mullingar, County Westmeath, or email mkmd@westmeathcoco.ie on or before 4pm on Tuesday February 28.
