John Deere 6R150 to star at launch of Christmas lights tractor run fundraiser

In preparation for the Christmas Lights Tractor and Truck Run fundraiser in Mullingar on Saturday December 9, the St Patrick’s Day Festival Committee will launch the event on Tuesday, November 14, at 6pm at the Joe Dolan Statue on the Market Square.

Chris Dolan, chairperson of the Mullingar Agricultural Show Committee, will drive his new John Deere 6R150 into town for the launch.

The Mullingar Agricultural Show (who celebrate their 100th show in 2024) won the best float prize at the 2023 St Patrick’s Festival parade, so it is fitting that they will launch this fundraiser for the 2024 festival.

The Christmas Lights Tractor and Truck Run fundraiser on December 9 will start at the National Science Park at 5.30pm on the Dublin Road and run through the town, up Patrick Street and finish with vehicles dispersing at the Ballymahon Roundabout.

Funds raised at the tractor run will be split: 50% to the Paediatric Unit of Mullingar Hospital and 50% towards the running of the festival.

All donations are welcome.

Registration is will be from 4.30pm (€25 cash on the day, or an idonate link can be sent by email for payment if desired).

Participants are encouraged to register early at https://winterfestmullingar.ie/christmas- tractor-run.

Keep an eye out for updates on the tractor and truck run fundraiser over the coming weeks, and other fundraising events taking place between now and March 2024.
